My mother gave me an iPod a few weeks ago for me to use and well, I used it once and then it went missing. Finally last night it showed up in a coat I haven't used for some time. I was so excited and I didn't want to misplace it again, so I decided that if I had a cute cover for it then I wouldn't lose it. Plus, then I would have a cute cover for when I go skiing this weekend in Red Lodge, MT! I decided to use Amy Butler Laminates just to make it a little waterproof and keep it warm during the snowy weather in MT. iPods tend to lose charge faster when they get cold. I also had some clear multi-purpose vinyl laying around which was perfect for the screen and the buttons.
I decided at the last moment to make a slit in bottom, so I wouldn't have to take the case off to charge the thing. That way the iPod and the cover never have to part, hopefully ensuring that I won't misplace it again!
On the back I wanted a spot to keep my headphones, so I place some velcro that I used to wrap up my headphones when I am not using them. I put another piece of velcro at the top to keep it closed. I also offset the velcro to one side so I could slip my headphone jack through the top on one side.
I free motion quilted my name -skburton- above the velcro so everybody knows its mine! (like the cover won't give it away!) It's hard to see the name because I did it in a coordinating thread. I wanted it to be a little hidden and not bright and bold.
I LOVE the way it turned out. Maybe it's because I am in love with this Amy Butler Laminate. The combination of tangerine/pink together in the lovely sandlewood pattern, I couldn't ask for much more this time of year. Spring is here!

Hi, I just found your post and LOVE your IPOD cover. Did you use a pattern? If so which one. My daughter would love it.
Thanks, Teresa teequilts@bellsouth.net
